Laurie Pemberton
Laurie Pemberton is a Brown Belt Nia instructor who has been teaching Nia for
nine years in the Boulder area. A Colorado native, Laurie lives in Boulder with
her soul mate and husband, Tom, and her beautiful daughter Katie.
Nia is a body-mind-spirit fitness and lifestyle practice. Through expressive movement—The
Body’s Way—Nia empowers people to achieve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Life lived in a body the Nia way is life lived in relationship to the sacred geometry of life.
Laurie has worked with various groups and ages over the years, and especially
enjoys introducing the joy of movement to people who are new to the spiritual aspects of connection to the physical body.
She has taught movement and the spirituality connected to movement at the University of Colorado, at churches,
in shelters, schools and retreats, and other public and private events over many years. She has shared
the joy of these teachings at many wedding and birthday parties, as well as various celebrations of life with people experienced
in Nia and other movement forms, and also with many people of all ages who have had no experience whatsoever.
Laurie especially enjoys introducing people new to this movement to
the power and sheer joy of the heightened experience of true connection to the body. She is committed to
assisting people in creating and maintaining a positive and loving relationship with their body. Her commitment
extends to teaching and assisting with the powerful practice of listening to the subtle messages of the body. She
enjoys working with groups and is particularly adept at assisting individuals as they come together to create and manifest
the highest in human potential through connection to group energy.
The creation of Kalyani Conscious Explorations is the manifestation of a long time intention to serve, and Laurie
is excited and honored to share this most auspicious time with all of you as we move and dance and share our time and wisdom
in true community.
